Varsity Rouge

Helmut Lang Varsity Jacket via Intermix / Dorothy Perkins Coated Skinny Jeans (similar here) / Shoemint Lane Booties (similar here) / Forever 21 Top / The Sak Iris Satchel / F21 Sunglasses / F21 Bee Earrings (similar here)

I guess you could say the last (almost) two weeks got away from me. Though that’s not shocking as February has historically been a month of little blogging on my part. Add in a plethora of snow storms and some Polar Vortex cycles for good measure, and really it’s amazing I got dressed at all. However going against my normal February type, I was actually in the mood to blog, so I’m holding out hope for a productive March.

In about a month I swear I wore this complete outfit 3 times, but the weather and life didn’t cooperate for pictures until the fateful day last weekend when we actually had temperatures well above freezing. What a joyous day it was! I’ve been really drawn to the sporty-minimalistic looks of Spring this year, which seems more fitting to the New England climate than my normal deserty-boho-lite phase I usually go through this upcoming month. With the ever-present threat of The Next Storm always looming somewhere in the week’s forecast, it just doesn’t seem right to pull out all those Springy prints just yet. As a sort of optimistic compromise, I’ve been choosing to dress in lighter colors with a simpler, clean aesthetic. Of course boots are thrown in for good measure… it’s only practical!
