Nineties Moto

Asos Leather Moto Jacket / James Jeans Icon Jagger Skinny / Old Navy Sweater / Shoemint Lane Booties (similar here & here) / Old Esprit Leather Backpack (similar here) / Handmade Beanie / Forever 21 Sunglasses

This is the result of some closet digging. I can’t really say I was ‘cleaning out’ my closet, more like really light re-organizing. Which basically means I was taking a few minutes to see what was in the dark corners that I tend to overlook. I found my much neglected leather jacket (though in all honesty, I froze my ass off in it – neglected for a reason!), my moto jeans and the best piece of all: a mini leather backpack that is so 90s it hurts. Do you remember ESPRIT? I feel like this was my jam right around the time girls were swooning over Titantic-era Leo and everyone was obsessed with yoyos. The 90s…

Anyway, obviously I’ve been carrying this bag everywhere since. It’s pretty worse-for-wear, but I’ll be damned if that stops me. When throwing it in the mix this particular day, I realized that all these ‘forgotten’ pieces came together in quite the moto/leather/tough-girl look. So I threw on my preppiest sweater in an attempt to balance things out. Ironically, that felt like the most daring piece of all to me. Oooo, navy and black! I’m so edgy.
