What’s In A Name?

As I was doing my usual bored-&-browse of the internet the other night, I stumbled upon quite the phenomenon. Shoes named after me! Yes, me specifically. What can I say, apparently I am a muse. ;) (Bear with me here, people. I’ve never met a single person with my name and I was always so sad as a child that there were never any of those souvenir key chains with it either. So this is all quite exciting to me!)

Now, I had seen this Melina boot before and a friend had recently told me about these oh-so-classy heels. So already I was pleased that the good name Melina was being used for footwear purposes, even if they weren’t really anything to get too excited over. But now I have discovered some real beauts!

These definitely make that soft spot in my heart for ugly-chic things go pitter-pater. They’re sort of almost cute, almost edgy, mostly ugly and I couldn’t be happier to have them bear my name. I’m a child of the 90s, so it only makes sense.

Oh these. One part 70s rock goddess, one part southwestern boho, with a fairly lethal amount of embellishment. I have to say, Sam, ya done good. If I were to imagine myself as a boot, I hope it would look something like this. Not to say anyone else would think that, but I have been told I’m loud and a little too much… so perhaps! Either way, I kind of wish these bad boys were in my closet right now. Well, if I’m being honest, I’d take both ‘Melina’ styles and not just for the novelty!

Let's chat. What's on your mind?
