new digs

dress: c/o eShakti, shoes: Steve Madden, denim jacket: J. Crew, bracelet: Jewelmint

Oh my, it’s been a whole week since I last posted.  But alas, it was a busy week!  James and I found a new apartment and these pictures were taken at a park that’s basically right behind the new place.  Yay!  We’ll be moving at the beginning of April, which means this month is going to be crazy and full of packing.

It was also super warm over the weekend.  Can you tell?  I’m sorry if this is offensive to all of you still buried under a snow drift.  It’s March now, so the light at the end of the tunnel is there!

Speaking of dressing for warmer temps, this dress was sent to me by eShakti.  You may have heard of it as it’s been circulating through the blogosphere.  Everything in their shop is completely customizable and comes in a range of sizes from 0-36 or they can custom make every piece to your exact measurements.  I have to say that, overall, I’m really impressed; both with their product and their business model.  The availability of cute, age-appropriate clothing for girls who are super petite or plus size isn’t always great.  Not to mention that most clothes today are made for a very specific body type that close to no one has.

When I picked out this dress, I decided to give them my measurements (though they have a very thorough size chart if choosing a standard size is easier for you).  I don’t want to sound disingenuous, but this is truly the best fitting dress I own.  The original design had cap-sleeves which do not look good on me, so I switched it to sleeveless (yes, their clothing is truly that customizable).  However, the best part is that the top part fits like a glove.  I have odd proportions, so I had my doubts as to how truly exact they could make it.  Turns out they’re pretty precise.

The only downside I can think of is that this particular dress is made of a thicker cotton without lining, so it wrinkles pretty easily.  However, I sort of expected that when dealing with natural fibers and otherwise the quality is really great.  If you’re interested in purchasing from eShakti, you can use the promo code PLESHDWW and get 20% off your purchase between now and March 20th.

This dress was sent to me for the purpose of review.  However all commentary and opinions are my own.  I make no commission off of the promo code.

  3. i'm dying over this color on you! i definitely looked at that dress and thought it would look better without the cap sleeves--turns out we were both right! on my next order, i'm going to take your advice and put in my measurements because, even though i love my dress, it's quite...roomy...up top. your whole look here is seriously perfect and you look so beautiful.

i'm moving in with my guy in may and we're a-searchin' for a place now. pretty stressful but so exciting!

  4. This is fabulous! I am always looking for mens leather jackets, and one I get from cwmalls.com is very good and I probably will get more from them.
