Earlier this evening I was overcome with the intense urge to take a stroll to the Trader Joe’s in our area. Who knows what came over me; probably my body saying ‘Okay! Enough! Move please!!’ (I fear I’ve lost my Boston legs forever). Regardless, the weather was positively gorgeous even for Los Angeles where we’re fortunate enough to get bored with gorgeous nights. It also helps that the neighborhood you take to get to the store is one of the most gorgeous, well-manicured areas I’ve ever seen. The houses are all delightfully unique with perfect landscaping and people are out walking their dogs or riding their bikes. It’s almost overwhelmingly picturesque.
Though I do have to admit, it was a little bittersweet. I was hoping by the summer solstice James would be working the day shifts so we could enjoy these summer nights together. But alas, no such luck.
It was good though, to remind myself just how lucky I am to get to experience LA - especially such a quiet and quaint section of it. I really need to start running again (by ‘again’, I ran track that one time in junior year of high school…) so I can enjoy this little neighborhood without going and buying myself food I don’t really need. ;)
