Nothing like piling on your most colorful clothes and then adding a dash of sequins. The great thing about sleeping in until the very last minute is that you don’t have time to question whether your outfit is too much or not. Though I suppose that could backfire pretty easily… I’ll let you be the judge of that one.
Today (or rather, yesterday, by the time you read this) turned out to be a pretty wonderful day. Work seemed to zip on by and then the Red Sox were on a channel we actually get. Even though they lost, it was nice to watch a game while making dinner. This is the first season we’ve had cable for, so being able to catch a game here and there makes it truly feel like spring!
I do have to admit, it made me miss Boston pretty bad. It doesn’t help that a few other blogs I read are either based in Boston or have recently featured it… Ohhh beautiful Back Bay and your gorgeous brownstones, walking the Esplanade next to that god-awful water, hiking to the North End to visit James when we first started dating (I can’t even begin to mention the Fenway area without bursting into ridiculous tears, so let’s just leave it at that)!! Then of course there was living in Brookline, which I relished every second of and is the closest I’ll ever get to living like a Kennedy.
However, on days like today when I’m feeling particularly nostalgic, I like to remind myself of that last summer I lived in Boston. The one where the humidity was off the charts and it thundered every other day! I swear, the A/C in the classrooms was a huge contributing factor in my decision to attend class at that point. So at least Los Angeles has the whole dry heat thing going on for it! ;)
