Black Maxi Skirt = Good to Go

cardigan: thrifted, skirt: Old Navy; shoes: Urban Outfitters, necklace: thrifted

This black maxi skirt has pretty much become my default for those mornings when I’m stumbling out the door, running late, and have just thrown things on in the hopes that they work (I honestly didn’t know if that cardigan had navy or black in it, but I threw it on and crossed my fingers) .  I strongly encourage you to get one as it seemingly makes every outfit a little bit more polished with zero effort.  Not to mention it’s more comfortable than wearing pajama pants (and less frowned upon in the workplace!).

Actually, this outfit represents the tipping point where I finally realized that I just had to do some laundry.  I have a feeling I’m the only person who truly procrastinates as long as I do when it comes to that (as in, I have this tendency to buy more clothes instead… for shame!)  Ohh but how wonderful is that reunion with my clothes afterwards?  So wonderful.  A veritable smorgasbord of outfit options right before my eyes!

Someday I won’t have to hassle with stupid communal laundry rooms that may or may not be working.  I’ll have a washer and dryer of my very own and I will do the laundry everyday.  Now that’s the stuff of dreams, my friends.  Yes, riches and enlightenment are all good and well, but give me the ability to do laundry without the anxiety of machines being swiped or precious quarters getting eaten (all the damn time!) and I’ll show you my greatest wishes realized!

I may romanticize dumb things…

  1. I've been known to let my laundry pile up a bit... especially when I always have to do two loads, one for dedicates and one regular. Of course to make things easier, I often wear thing and then wear them again, and again before even considering if they are dirty enough to be washed.

The maxi does seem to be working quite well for you... I might have to think about getting one!
    Chic on the Cheap

  2. no you don't! i think of having my own washer and dryer and sigh a little dreamy sigh. i feel you on that.

love the peek of color from the shoes under the skirt.

  3. I remember in high school I had this black maxi skirt that I LOVED. I wore it so often that it fell apart my first year of college.

I think I need to invest in another one!

  4. I am glad I am not the only one who dreams of a personal washer and dryer. Communal laundry machines are the bane of my existence. I pretty much wait as long a physical possible to do laundry.
