Guess what my fellow… people (I was going to say Americans, but you could be from anywhere)!  This past weekend was actually my last weekend in Los Angeles for a little while.  I’ll be off to New Hampshire next Saturday for a bit of an extended Christmas trip.  This is exciting since I haven’t been back in a whole year.  (Here’s a picture of dark hot chocolate that has nothing to do with the story except that I drank it this weekend.)

So since it was my last weekend in sunny California, naturally we lived it up!  Okay, no, we didn’t really so much live it up.  We did go to the Arclight Cinemas to see A Dangerous Method.  It was sort of a date night, but with our roommate.  But still nice.  James took me there on our first date.  It’s the classiest movie theatre I’ve been to.  They assign your seats, people.  Assigned seats!  So naturally we snuck in a giant grocery bag worth of popcorn and candy.

Go on, judge all you want, Arclight.  You drove us to it, after all.  $9.25 for a soda and water.  For drinks!

Then the next day, since our ‘date night’ was really a ‘roommates go to the movies’ night, James took me out to eat.

Oh yeah that is the best bread ever and a bloomin’ onion.  We went to The Outback.  Early-bird style.  With the rest of the senior citizens.  I know, it’s almost too much for you to handle.  What can I say?  We live life to the max.

James’s outfit was all perfectly weekend coordinated as well.  Put-together, but comfy materials is what you want.  Especially when everyone is suddenly in full-on crazy holiday mode.  Well done, Mr. Jimmy.

Other than that, I started some Christmas crochet projects and still need to look up whether or not a crochet hook is permitted on an airplane.  We wouldn’t want any incidents, you know?

I’m not giving anything away, but if you happen to know me in real life, you may or may not want to prepare yourself for a handmade gift.  Regardless of what it looks like… it’s from the heart.  Right?  Right.

So how was your weekend??

Your commentaries always make me smile, and $10 for two non alcoholic beverages? That is just nuts. I always sneak stuff in anyway - isn't that what huge purses are for after all?

    Chic on the Cheap
