Sunday Brunch: Broken Egg Cafe

photo (41)

We went to brunch on Sunday, which is pretty impressive given the fact that I live with two diehard football fans.

I wish I had never heard of the phrase ‘Fantasy Football’.

Anyway, we went to the Broken Egg in Burbank and it was delightful.

I ordered the biggest pancake I’ve ever seen and eggs & bacon because… well, why not?  James got a French toast banana explosion.  We easily could have ordered one of these dishes and split it between the two of us.

The food was good and that pancake is definitely fluffier than it looks, but without being overly cake-like (my favorite happy medium).  However, I left totally obsessed with the ‘handthrown’ coffee mugs they had.

Umm, hello gorgeous!

Is that not the most comforting looking mug in the world?  I’ve decided that when I’m finally adult enough to have a cohesive set of mugs, they will be these.  They’re made by Deneen Pottery (yes I was that girl looking at the bottom of the mug, trying not to spill coffee on herself) and I have yet to figure out if they sell them in a non-wholesale fashion, but somehow they will be mine.

Hope you had a fantastic weekend yourself!  Do anything fun?

  1. Ohhh your breakfasts look so good.
That is one of my favorite meals to have out, because you know, I'm far too lazy to actually cook in the morning.
