If only I had known...

…I would have prepared!

I like to keep it real up in here and usually light-hearted, but today I just can’t muster the energy to do the latter.  So in keeping with the former: today sort of sucked.  Nothing particularly terrible happened, but it was one of those days where you wind up feeling a little underappreciated and, because times are the way they are, you’re pretty much guaranteed to feel that way for quite some time into your future.  Besides, you should be grateful because at least you have work.  It was one of those days, it was.  And then you feel guilty, and maybe that’s what they wanted you to feel, but really only you can allow yourself to feel that way.

Now you’re having a pity party.  Which really sullies the good ‘party’ name, don’t you think?

Sometimes the blogging world is all double-rainbows and happiness and cupcakes.  And that’s fine, but if we’re being completely honest, being a recent graduate and trying to forge your modest little way in this world isn’t the easiest thing.  And I don’t think there should be any shame in saying that every now and then.  Sometimes it’s good to know when other people are in the same boat (let’s make this metaphorical boat a yacht though, give our lives a glimpse of opulence).

  1. I like reading posts that AREN'T double rainbows and sunshine and cupcakes (or whatevs). It makes me feel more connected with the blogs I read. Obviously nobody's life is perfect and when I read a blog in which the blogger's life SEEMS perfect I just kind of feel like their fake.

I'm sure you'll find your way back t the double rainbows ;-) Till then, thanks for being real!

  3. Sorry to hear about your sucky day...but you're right...put it out there and be real...everyday isn't rosy so sometimes we have to just say...this sucks and why...then we feel better.

I actually have a blog label entitled pet peeves...under that is where I do a lot of my complaining =)

It's okay to let it out! Hope you're feeling better =)
