The Ultimate Fall 2011 Wishlist: Pants

Clearly blazers are not the only thing on my wishlist because that would make me a reasonable person who lives modestly and is happy with what they have.  That would make me an adult and I very clearly fail at that everyday.

What else is making me salivate (other than that box of cracked pepper Triscuits on top of the fridge)?  Pants!  That’s not unreasonable, right?  Everyone needs pants.  So here we go: pants (have I said that word enough?? …one more time…).

So when I’m walking along a forest path (roll with it) and stumble across a big old pile of gold that some mythical woodland creature left behind, the first thing I’m going to do is book it to Gap because they have some amazing wide-leg pants that having been teasing me all along the watchtower blogosphere.  Also, I’m sure a lot of you are like me and have lots of skinny jeans in your closet and one little, harmless pair of wide-leg jeans would certainly add some flavor to your wardrobe.

With that said, I really have the whole jeans thing covered.  To be honest, that’s pretty much all I’ve got in the pants department aside from a sad pair of Audrey Hepburn-esque black pants that I’ve worn to death.  So this fall I’m also warming up to the idea of khaki and olive pants (I may be several years behind on this).  I think they can be just as versatile as jeans, but make you look far more polished.  Also, those corduroys are just screaming to be worn with my chambray shirt.  The only thing is the cut of these pants needs to be just right for your body type or it can get pantsuit bottoms-ish real quick.
