multi-tasking, musings and the pursuit of happiness

Ohhh but I am being super lazy about editing pictures and therefore just feel like rambling about things that are on my mind currently.  Also, taking pictures of yourself in a mirror is the bomb diggity.  Simple pleasures, my friends.

So today I got a call asking if I could come in for an interview in Burbank at 5:15 and like any good girl looking for work I replied that I surely could.  Except I did not realize that it was 4:35.  And if the traffic lights decided to be uncooperative (they always are when James drives this road, I swear) it could take 15-20 minutes to get where I needed to be.

And I hadn't showered in, like... two days!

Thus commenced a scene unto which the Tasmanian Devil would be proud.  Showering, drying my hair and seemingly simultaneously applying some form of makeup (god bless the fact that I chopped all my hair off in August). Luckily I had worn a cute outfit yesterday (not pictured above) and just threw that on again and fortunately I am still on the good side of the traffic lights (sorry James, you must have pissed them off at some point).

I mean, I probably won't get the job, but it was definitely the most motivation and expediency I've seen of myself in a long while.  I even scheduled a phone interview in the parking garage as I walked to the interview.  So pretty much, between the hours of 4:35 and 5:15 Pacific Standard Time, I was Melina, high chancellor of multi-tasking.

Perhaps I should update my resume.

In other news, I 'liked' The Nightly News with Brian Williams (swoon) on my livre de visage (that's facebook in French... or in Pretentious American Twit, whichever you prefer).  It's fun to pretend he's ma bestie in facebooklandfeed.  Every time 'he' updates I'm always like, 'Oh B-Will, you're so worldly and knowledgeable'.

Oh and I also had a lovely conversation with an employee in Lowes today about our mutual distaste for doing laundry (please refer to the above pictures are proof).  When I was but a wee youngin' I feel as though I would talk the ear off of anyone who was in a five mile radius of me and recently I've felt like this was a trait I'd sadly lost to adult sensibility.  It was a pleasant surprise to see that my ability to ramble on about a completely useless topic, to someone who was probably just being polite, is still alive and well.  God love the people of California and how they humor me.

So now that I'm done rambling, anything you'd like to get off your chest?  Good day?  Bad day?  I'm all ears!
